Either way, we're glad you're here. Quick version, in case you're new: Fandema gives recoverable grants to smallholder farmers in The Gambia. That means interest-free start-up capital, no collateral, and no personal risk. When a farmer's project turns a profit, they return the original amount to us and keep the rest. We then use some of that capital for our operations and hand the rest to new farmers. Fandema is Mandinka for "self-empowerment." Hence our tagline: because self-empowerment needs a start.
